Vino di Anna, Sicily, Italy
Cherry and blood orange with a fine, firm grip. A red to open when a quick supper turns into a longer conversation.
You’ll notice the fine tannins and the flavour lingering after each sip.
Try this for cherry-led red fruit with more grip and length than a simple light red.
Fermented with native yeasts and matured on fine lees in used oak casks.

The producer
Anna Martens and Eric Narioo made their first Etna wine together in 2008, then bought old bush vines and a derelict palmento near Solicchiata. Their small plots follow different lava flows across the volcano’s northern slopes. Hand farming and native yeasts guide the work, with wines resting in vessels as varied as Georgian qvevri, chestnut wood and lava stone.
