AT THE TABLE
Pork with apple and sage
Fresh citrus cuts through the richness while the mature aromas suit the roast.

Melsheimer, Mosel, Germany
Grapefruit, a scent of honey and a hint of almond, wrapped in a creamy feel. Seventy months of fermentation have given this dry Riesling time to develop, while the citrus still brings freshness. A glass for an evening with nowhere else to be.
You’ll notice a creamy feel, even though the wine tastes dry.

SOMETHING SIMPLE
The almond note follows the topping and freshness balances the butter.
FOR SHARING
The fresh citrus edge brings lift to the creamy rice and soft leeks.
Try roast parsnips with almonds; the nutty note joins the topping while citrus keeps it fresh.
A sugary honey cake would hide the dry citrus finish, despite the wine’s honey scent.

The producer
The Melsheimer family has worked the steep slopes around Reil for six generations. Riesling is the thread running through the estate, from still wines to sparkling bottles. Caring for these demanding Mosel sites is part of the job they take most seriously: ecological winegrowing has been recognised since 1995, followed by Demeter certification in 2013. This is a family business built around keeping its hillside vineyards alive.
