AT THE TABLE
Beef burgers with caramelised onion
The full fruit and velvety tannins match the juicy meat.

Jima, Epirus, Greece
Plum and dried cranberry with chocolate and herbs behind them. It feels full and concentrated, with a velvety grip and a cherry-flavoured finish. A red for an evening when the food takes its time.
You’ll notice the generous fruit and a velvety grip rather than a hard edge.
If you like full reds with dark fruit and a smooth grip, try this cask-aged Vlahiko.
Fermented in open stainless-steel tanks, then matured in a large wooden cask.

SOMETHING SIMPLE
The concentrated feel suits the lamb and dried herbs connect the flavours.
FOR SHARING
The generous fruit and moderate grip suit the slow-cooked sauce.
Try a juicy mushroom burger; the concentrated fruit and herbal notes fit the browned edges.
A very delicate fish broth would disappear beside the full fruit and chocolate notes.

The producer
Panos and Kristy built Jima beside their family home in Kalomodia, surrounded by gardens and an old citrus grove. Their wines follow three very different corners of Epirus: the breezy Ambracian Gulf, the traditional wine villages of Zitsa and the cooler slopes of Konitsa. Local grapes such as Debina and Vlahiko give that journey its own accent.
