Why it's worth a try

From Terre di Chieti, Italy
White & Biodynamic
Easy-drinking and light
Crowd-pleasing wine everyone can enjoy
13.5% ABV

Named after the Italian word for sheep that once grazed these vineyards, this biodynamic Pecorino bursts with personality. Certified organic and Demeter biodynamic, it brings explosive aromatics of lime peel, white flowers and ripe pear. The palate stays fresh and intense, balancing vibrant acidity with a silky texture that never feels harsh. A standout white that proves Italian indigenous grapes deserve more attention, offering far more character than its modest price suggests.

Lunaria (Cantina Orsogna)

Abruzzo's Biodynamic Wine Pioneers Since 1964

Cantina Orsogna launched Lunaria in 2001 as Italy's first certified biodynamic wine project. Working with organic growers across Abruzzo's hills, they've transformed a traditional cooperative into a leader in sustainable winemaking, producing 500,000 bottles annually without synthetic chemicals, following lunar cycles and biodynamic principles.

Their wines are vibrant, authentic expressions of Abruzzo terroir—Montepulciano with ripe cherry depth, Trebbiano with coastal freshness. Certified organic and biodynamic, every bottle reflects their belief that great wine starts in healthy soil and thrives with minimal intervention.

WINE REGION

Terre di Chieti: Abruzzo's Organic Wine Heartland

Lamp icon

Located in central Italy along the Adriatic coast, Terre di Chieti is Abruzzo's largest wine-producing area. The province produces approximately 40% of Abruzzo's total wine output, combining ancient winemaking traditions with modern organic practices across sun-drenched hills and coastal vineyards.

Grape icon

Home to Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, producing rich, fruit-forward reds, and Trebbiano d'Abruzzo for fresh, mineral whites. The region also grows international varieties and increasingly focuses on certified organic and biodynamic wines that express the Mediterranean character.

Land icon

Clay and limestone soils dominate the rolling hills, while the Adriatic Sea provides cooling breezes. The Majella mountains protect vineyards from harsh weather, creating ideal conditions for healthy, expressive grapes with balanced acidity and ripe fruit flavors.
